Chard is a small town that lies in the South of Somerset near the A30 dual-carriageway. When learning to drive in Chard, you will get to experience lots of roads, junctions and surprises that occur when driving. You will start off in residential areas and slowly progress to high-speed roads such as the A30.
Chard will not be the only place you will drive in, you may visit other places to gain access to more complex roundabouts, crossroads and roads to improve your driving knowledge. Such places are Axminster, Crewkerne and Taunton. Villages will also be visited during your crash course in places such as Wambrook, Wakeford, Combe St Nicholas, Chaffcombe, Cricket St Thomas, Winsham, Tatworth and Tytherleigh.
As Chard does not have a local driving test centre, Taunton will be the area you will drive in leading up to your driving test appointment. Taunton provides you with more roads, challenging streets and more pedestrians to look out for!
Our intensive driving courses in Chard are carried out by seasoned local driving instructors. You will learn in a clean and maintained car with safety measurements such as dual controls. They will arrange to pick you up from home and drop you off at the end of each session.

This depends on which course you choose, the demand in your area, and the time of year. Typically we will advise 5 weeks but often we can d this sooner. If you have your theory test we may be able to arrange your course in a shorter period of time.
We have courses ranging from 10 to 50 hours. If you are a new driver we advise either a 40 or 45-hour course. If you have previously had a test, we would advise 10 or 15 depending on when you had your test and what you failed for.
No, we can still book your course even if you don't have your theory test already. We will help you pass your theory test and enrol you onto our online training programme.
Courses vary in cost. You can get a course quote easily online on our booking site and select the course you want, the location your course will be conducted and which transmission you need.
