Grantham is a small-medium sized town with a population of 44,ooo people. Based in Lincolnshire, it is approximately 23 miles south of Lincoln and 22 miles east of Nottingham. Famous for being the birthplace of Margret Thatcher! Learning to drive in Lincoln will give you some great experience with roundabouts, town centre driving and traffic lights. The town isn’t overly complicated to learn to drive in and to get more experience your driving instructor will take you to larger places to practice other areas of driving. Typical places may include Peterborough, Lincoln and Nottingham.
Once you have gained more confidence with your driving you will learn to plan your own routes, and driving independently. Using a road sign or a sat nav, your driving instructor may conduct some of your driving lessons in other places nearby. These may include Great Ponton, Ropsley, Kelby, Barrowby, Harlaxton, Wyville, Saltby, Easton, Caythorpe, Balderton, Flintham, Eastwell, Buckminster, Burton Coggles, Bitchfield, Folkingham, Long Bennington, Barkston, Hanthorpe, Colsterworth and Aswarby.
Towards the latter part of your intensive driving course, your driving instructor will plan to take you around some driving test routes. You will do a mock driving test, and once you feel ready and confident you will sit your driving exam. Your nearest theory test centre is Grantham, and your nearest driving test centre is Grantham.
