Below is a brief description of the 3 level courses we offer and one of these may be the course you will be needing. This will depend on your current driving background. Beginner – Having very little driving experience will require you to take our Platinum / Gold courses. We advised you to book the course as it is designed to help you understand all the driving topics. This course will help you go from the basics to becoming a test standard. The usual time frame for this course will take over 2 – 3 weeks. Booking in advance is better and preferable as it will give you more time to choose your test dates!

Intermediate – If you are a young driver who needs practice behind the wheel, this course is the right for you. If you have some practice before, you can take the test to see your result. But, this regular course will fill the gap to help you become a standard.

Experienced – Our Bronze courses are curated to make all learner drivers test standard before they go to test. So if you have driven abroad and need to transfer to a UK licence or do you need to pass your driving test as you have one booked, these courses are best for you. Risca is based on the NP11 postcode and all of the other surrounding villages. Around Risca are other places/settlements such as Machen, Cwmbran, Newport, Llanbradach, Caerleon, Pontypool, Abertridwr, Abertillery, Cardiff & Deri. Risca is a town in south-east Wales, within the Caerphilly County Borough. It lies on the south-eastern edge of the South Wales Coalfield and has a population of almost 12,000 residents in the town. Historically, Risca is the location of Ty-Sign, a large housing estate in the early 1960s as a satellite village for the new Llanwern steelworks.

Risca does not have its own test centre, taking a driving test will require traveling to the nearest test centres that would be situated in Newport and Cardiff. All the courses we offer include instructors taking you to your practical test at these centres.

Every intensive course is to intended to help drivers become test standards. These courses also help you to be familiar with the area you are about to take your test!

Passing your theory test is the first step in everyone’s learning journey. Without it, taking a practical test is impossible. We put as much emphasis on the theory as we do the practical. Risca does not have a theory test centre itself. The nearest theory test centre would be situated in Newport.
