Rothwell is a small market town with a population of over 7,000, which means for learner drivers that they’ll encounter quite calm and steady roads going in and out of the town centre; though periodically due to it’s rich history regarding the many intriguing freshwater lakes that surrounds Rothwell, it can receive a surplus of traffic due to tourism, but nothing that should be too major for the average learner driver. The A14 dual carriageway passes through the south of Rothwell and connects the town to places such as Northampton, Corby and Kettering.
Regarding the previously mentioned towns of Morley, Leeds and Batley, you’ll be expected to visit these places by your instructor to help you practice on different types of roads, especially in Northampton as the town is an amalgamation of sports culture, history and industrial works so expect that the roads here will adorned with heavy traffic and a complex array of roads. Likewise, yoour instructor will take you to the outskirts of Rothwell and beyond to help you gain experience in country driving. This will be undertaken in places like Desborough, Rushton, Geddington, Great Oakley, Arthingworth, Harrington, Loddington, Mawsley and Broughton.
Once you’ve approached the latter stages of your course, your instructor will reserve the last 3 – 5 hours training you within the vicinity of the test centre. They’ll teach all sorts ranging from meeting traffic situations, spotting hazards and emerging on dual carriageways.
