When you embark on your intensive driving course in Watlington you will start with the basics and slowly practice more challenging topics. As Watlington is small in population, with around 2,700 residents, it only provides you with a small selection of roads to learn in. It is good to start off with but you will more than likely need to go out of town to more larger towns that have more roads such as roundabouts, junctions, one-ways and busier streets.
As Watlington is a town by definition, it is possibly considered a village by some by its very small population. Watlington is near the Aston Rowant National Nature Reserve which makes it a passing town for commuters. Your course is more than likely going to be spread across many towns and villages. You may visit Pyrton, Shirburn, Britwell Baldwin, Brightwell Upperton, Christmas Common and Lewknor.
Although you may be in Watlington during the majority of your course, do expect to travel to towns such as Thame, Wallingford a Didcot during your one-week intensive driving course in Watlington. The nearest driving test centre is based in Oxford. Again, some of your course hours will be allocated to learning the roads of Oxford and surrounding areas.
Our courses are perfectly designed to take any learner and make them test ready. We have courses ranging from 10 – 45 hours and you can pick the best one for you. We always say that a learner needs around 40 hours of tuition in order to be “fit” for the test. The DVSA does stipulate around 45 hours and half of that on top with private practice.
We work with local driving instructors to the area who are knowledgeable in local villages and towns. They will pick you up from your home address and drop you off also. We can also arrange to pick you up from your place of work!
You will become a confident driver by the end of your course and be ready to take a test. As Watlington does not have a test centre, you will have to travel further afield to places like Oxford or High Wycombe to take a test (subject to test availability).
Your driving instructor in Watlington will reserve around 3 – 5 hours of your course prior to your test hour. This will ensure you are getting training right before you take a test so you are more aware of the driving topics you have learnt!
