As part of gaining your driver’s licence, you are required to partake and pass a theory driving test. This test must be passed prior to being able to sit the practical driving test. As part of the theory driving test- you will have to successfully pass two test elements; these include: a hazard perception test and a multiple choice test.
The first part of the theory driving test is the multiple choice questions. You will need to answer 50 questions and will need to gain at least a score of 43 correct to pass this part of the exam. The categories in which you shall be tested on are as follows:
The hazard perception test consists of 14 one minute video clips whereby you need to identify the developing hazard and respond by clicking the mouse at the point where you will have to respond in real life. One of the video clips has a double developing hazard. Each developing hazard (video clip) has a maximum score of 5 points- totalling a possible 75 points in total (including the clip with a double developing hazard). To pass this element of your theory driving test, you shall be required to gain a score of 44 or more to pass.
