Exmouth is a small-medium-sized town with 36000 population. It is a stone’s throw from Exeter City and is accessible via the A303. The town is a seaside resort, and in the summer months enjoys tourism and an abundance of holidaymakers. The roads tend to be quite calm, not typically overtly busy during peak times, but as you venture out towards Exeter, the roads tend to get busier. Learning to drive in Exmouth will be a great start to kick off your learning-to-drive journey.
With ample residential streets and a few humble roundabouts, the town is not a typically hard place to start learning to drive. As you go through the driver syllabus, you may venture out of town to some busier places such as Exeter, Newton Abbot or Torquay.
Once you have gained more control, your driving instructor will take you to some remote areas to practice country lanes and dual carriageways. These areas may include Lympstone, Dawlish, Kenton, Starcross, Holcombe, Otterton, Sidmouth, Whimple.
