Mansfield is a market town in Nottinghamshire. With a population of 103,000 people according to the 2011 census. It lays 12 miles north of Nottingham and has good commuting links. Not far from the M1, and based near the A60 – learning to drive in Mansfield will give you lots of road experience and experiences when it comes to life on the road. Famous for its coal and textiles industry – Mansfield is a vibrant town that has grown rapidly over the past few decades. Traffic in Mansfield can be heavy during peak traffic times. When on your ‘crash’ driving course, you will get to experience lots of traffic, congestion and hill starts!

If you feel brave enough – your driving instructor will take you out of town on some of your driving lessons, of course, once you have mastered the basics! Other nearby places may include Newark-On-Trent, Worksop and Chesterfield. It is really important to gain as much road experience as possible. Now that learners are now able to go on the motorway – it would great experience to have some training with your driving instructor when doing your course. Overtaking, lane discipline and high-speed driving are all great and useful driving exercises! Of course, not everyone would like to – this is your choice!

Once, you have learnt the basics, and are more confident with emerging, clutch control and hill starts, your driving instructor will take you to do some rural driving within the local areas. Typically, this could be Ravenshead, Harlow Wood, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Stanton Hill, Clipstone, Shirebrook, Forest Town, Bilsthorpe, Blidworth, Huthwaite, Glapwell, Pepplewock, Kirky-in-Ashfield, Selston. When travelling to these places you will learn things like road position on country lanes, hazard perception, use of gears.

Towards the end of your ‘crash’ intensive driving course in Mansfield, your driving instructor will reserve your remaining driving lessons for your driving test. To get you ready for your driving test, you will do a mock driving test and some driving test routes.

When it comes to your driving test. We aim to book your test at your nearest driving test centre. Your nearest driving test centre is detailed above. Sometimes, we may need to use another test centre – but we will discuss this with you. Your driving lessons will help prepare you for your driving test by doing some driving test routes, and a mock driving test. Once, you are ready – you will take your driving test.
