Newark-on-Trent is a town based in the county of Nottinghamshire which is based on the ancient Great North Road. Based on the river Trent, and with a population of 27,700 residents (2011) the town itself is moderately sized. Although mainly residential, the town will attract tourists nearer the town centre with the Newark Castle & Gardens and the National Civil War Centre.
Newark-on-Trent also has many links to other parts with the A1, A46 and the A617 to places like Sheffield, Nottingham and Lincoln. You will be able to practice a lot on dual-carriageways, learn in residential streets if you are new or fairly new to driving. Driving out to local villages will cover many rural topics in places like Kelham, Winthorpe, Coddington, Balderton, Fernwood, Farndon, Elston, Claypole, Stubton, Long Bennington, Rolleston and Collingham.
