Choosing The Right Course For You in Cowes...

We understand learners all are at different stages in their driving progress. So that’s why we emphasize choosing the right course for you in the beginning so you can maximise the best chances of passing the first time. Down below are 3 descriptions that will touch over certain different levels any learner driver may be in their learning journey. These are here to give you a brief understanding of which course is suitable for you. For example, a new 17-year-old driver will need a beginner course. If you need someone to help you, then you can give us a call on 0800 112 3515 or use our course recommender quiz to recommend the best package for you!

Beginner – If you have very little driving experience driving a car, you may need to look at our Platinum / Gold courses. These are designed to help you cover all of the driving topics and go from A – Z in the driving syllabus. Usually, these courses will last over 2 or more weeks. If you need to book time off or have limited time for these courses, then booking in advance is better as you can secure more preferable dates!

Intermediate – If you have some practice or had lessons a while ago, then you are almost there & ready to take a test. But a medium-sized course will help close the gap between where you’re currently at to becoming test standard.

Experienced – Courses for experienced drivers usually need our Bronze courses. If you have failed a driving test and need a quick refresher course to crack on with your test, then this is right for you. If you have lots of training and not had much test training either, these courses are good to overview your driving and go over any bad habits, areas of weakness, prior to your driving test.

    Practical Test Centres Near Cowes

When taking your driving test, Cowes has no test centre and it will require you to travel to other nearby test centres such as Southampton and Portsmouth. Although they are far from Cowes, your instructor will take you to these places when it comes to your test.

When doing your intensive course, the goal isn’t solely focusing on the test, the goal is to make you a safe and confident driver and the test is there to only test your ability. If you need more information on different test centres, please also consider looking at our practical test centres index page.

    Theory Test Centres Near Cowes

Cowes does not have its own theory test centre, this will require you to travel to Southampton to take your driving test.

While it is ideal to pass your theory test before booking a practical, with all our courses, we don’t mind if you have not passed your theory yet. We like to take on learners who have not got their theory as we believe it’s just as important as the practical test.

We can help guide you through the booking process. We will discuss everything from your driving background to book your test!

    Frequently Asked Questions...

Does my driving instructor take me to test?

Yes, by default with every course, your driving instructor will take your driving test. If you wish to take your own car to test, you are more than welcome to.

Do I need to have my provisional licence before booking a course?

You can still book without having your provisional licence. However, we are limited in booking your theory or practical tests. Once we receive your licence details, then we can proceed forward.

    Should I book early?

Booking early is always better as you will have more choice of dates. The earlier you book, the more time you'll have to pass your theory & for us to secure you a good practical test date!

Can I pass my theory with you?

Absolutely! If you need to include & do your theory as part of your intensive course, then we can add this to your booking.

Do you allow breaks in your courses?

Yes, breaks will be given roughly at the halfway point of training sessions. If you prefer to not have any breaks, then we can make a not of this upon your booking with us!
