Lyme Regis is a small seaside town in Dorset. 25 miles away from Dorchester and 25 miles away from Exeter. With a small population of 3,500 people, the summer months brings a lot of tourism to the town and a flurry of tourists. Learning to drive in Lyme Regis will be a joyous experience, especially on one of our intensive driving courses. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to mastering the roads. With the A3052 road nearby, and the busier A35 – there is ample opportunity to gain high-speed driving and overtaking exercises. Once you are more familiar with the basics, your driving instructor will take you to nearby towns to experience town driving. These types of areas may include Yeovil, Taunton and Weymouth.

Once you are more confident with the basics, you will venture out to learn and practice some rural driving exercises. Local places you may drive to and around may include West Bay, Charmouth, Hoyton, Colyford, Musbury, Axminster, Hawkchurch, Ryall, Symondsbury, Weycroft, Shute, Broadoak, Shave Cross, South Bowood, Marshwood.

Once you have completed your intensive driving course in Lyme Regis your driving instructor will take you to your driving test. You will have done some driving test routes and a mock driving test. Our intensive driving courses in Lyme Regis range from 10 hours to 45 hours in duration. We have a course for everyone no matter what level on the learner spectrum you are currently at. The average learner driver will need approximately 45 hours of tuition overall! (DVSA 2019). So, if you have already had 25 hours of tuition, we would advise you to take the 20 or 25-hour course. You will drive around some urban residential roads, and around the town centre. Not far from country lanes and dual carriageways. Your driving test will be the last hour of your intensive driving course.
