Maidstone is a large town in Kent. With a population of 113,o00 people according to the 2011 census. The river Medway wuns through the town and is close to the M20. The A229 dual carriageway runs through Kent – which provides good connections with the surrounding towns. Learning to drive in Maidstone will give you plenty of road experiences on urban roads, rural roads and of course dual carriageways. If you are feeling brave – perhaps even nip on the M20 and travel to Ashford, Canterbury and Folkestone.
Once you are more confident with the roads in Maidstone, your driving instructor will take you out of town to learn rural roads. You may visit places such as Smarden, Lenham, Charing, Rochester, Grays, Kings Hill, Hildenborough, West Kingsdown, Cranbrook, Benenden, Goudhurst, Wadhurst, Crowborough, Paddock Wood, Oxted, Lingfield, Orpington, Wadhurst, Sidcup, Burwash.
During the last part of your intensive driving course in Maidstone, your driving instructor will do some test route training, and prepare you for your driving test. You will do a mock driving test so you get to experience what it’ll be like on the day.
All of our intensive driving courses in Maidstone range from 10-hours to 45-hours in duration. No matter what stage you are at, we have something for everyone. The average learner will need 45 hours to become good enough and confident enough to pass a driving test. (DVSA 2019) So, if you are a new driver we would recommend the 40 or 45-hour driving course. If you have failed a driving test previously, we would recommend 10-hour intensive driving course. Please visit our course section for more information.
All of our intensive driving courses in Maidstone will be conducted in cars fitted with dual controls and are fully insured for learner drivers. All of the driving instructors we work with are fully qualified and are CRB checked. The DVSA monitor and regulate all driving instructors.
All intensive driving courses will end with a driving test. We aim to book your driving test at your nearest driving test centre. Unless you state otherwise. In most cases, the test will be at the end of the course (within a few days), for larger courses, we aim to leave a period of approx 7 days to allow for extra training if this is needed. Your local test centre is in Maidstone – which is good news, as less time taken away for travelling.
