Newmarket is a small market town with a population of over 20,000, and it is situated in East Suffolk. Due to it’s relatively small size, learner drivers will experience calm and steady traffic on relatively peaceful roads. The A14 dual carriageway passes to the northwest of Newmarket and connects it to the surrounding cities and towns of Cambridge, Thetford and Colchester.
Your instructor will take you to the aforementioned towns and cities to experience different kinds of roads to help nuance different areas of your driving abilities. In Cambridge for instance, there’ll be heavier and busier traffic since it’s a cultural and historical centre of importance in England, it’s expected that it will have that level of traffic. Likewise, you can expect to visit some rural places to help train you in country road driving. This will be undertaken in places like Exning, Snailwell, Chippenham, Dullingham, Cheveley, Moulton, Kentford, Burwell and Kirtling.
