    Driving On The Roads In Thame

    Thame is a small town situated in the county of Oxfordshire. It only has a population of 11,000+ residents which makes it a quiet place when learning to drive. Despite being small, new learner drivers can experience roads without much traffic and pedestrians. With the M40 motorway to the west, many commuters may drive into Thame to stop or pass through. This gives you the opportunity to practice driving on fast roads, covering the emerging on a slip road and overtaking slower moving traffic.

     

    Aylesbury, Oxford and High Wycombe are 3 of the nearest towns to Thame. Due to the size of Thame, you will need to go outside of Thame to practice on different roads. Also, local villages will have different road types, road users and layouts. You may pass through places like North Weston, Moreton, Towersey, Kingsey, Aston Sandford, Haddenham, Long Crendon, Shabbington, Tetsworth, Sydenham, Postcombe and Tiddington.

     

    You will visit Oxford during the remaining few hours of your course to practice for your test.

    Our courses are done over a week but if you can only do a few days a week, we can arrange to do a semi-intensive course instead.

     

    All one-week driving courses in Thame are carried out by approved driving instructors who are regularly monitored by the DVSA. They are background checked and have CRB checks. All driving instructors are self-employed.

    Taking A Driving Test In Thame

    Your test date will be booked within a week of your course finishing. As part of the service, LPOD Academy looks for earlier test appointments manually to ensure your course goes ahead as planned!

    Do I need to have my theory test before I book?

    No. We will help you pass your theory test whilst you wait to start your course. We have our own in-house theory training course which can be done online in your own time with a 88% pass rate. Once you pass your theory test we will book your practical test at the end of your intensive driving course.

    I suffer with anxiety, is an intensive driving course suitable for me?

    Yes. Although please let us know at the time of booking so that we can work with you and get to know how to help you best. We do work with in-house NLP practitioners who specialise in working with people who suffer from anxiety and nerves. We are also working on developing our own online course to help learner drivers with anxiety. If you are unsure, please call 0800 112 3515 where we can help answer any questions that you may have.

    What course is best for me?

    We have a large array of courses. These courses range from 10 hours to 50 hours. Everyone has different needs. The DVSA say that the average person will need 47 hours of practice and 22 hours of private practice. We understand that this is based on averages.     Do you offer automatic intensive driving courses?

    Yes. We do offer automatic intensive driving courses. more and more instructors are converting to electric vehicles so the number is only going to grow over the next few years. Please call 0800 112 3515 to see if we have automatic instructors in your area.

    Will I have a test at the end of my course?

    Yes. If you select add test to your course booking then we will manage your test at the end of your course. There are many variables which can mean different outcomes. Some students manage their own test, some just want the training. Again, this is dependent upon whether you want us to manage your test.

    Do you offer home pick-up?

    Yes. On most occasions, we do offer home pick-up. In fact, this is 99% of the time. If you live in a remote area and our instructors do NOT cover your area, we will aim to arrange an alternative plan of action for our customers.

    Do you help with theory training?

    Yes. We do. We have an online course that will help you when it comes to training for your theory test.
