Wakefield is a large urban town based in West Yorkshire. With a population 100,000 residents, it can get busy during peak times of the day which will test your ability when meeting oncoming traffic. Wakefield is positioned south of the major city of Leeds which makes the M1 motorway generally busy. You also have access to many high-speed carriageways like the Doncaster Road, A650 and the M1 motorway.
During your crash course in Wakefield, you may visit other nearby places to get a wide range of driving experience. Places like Dewsbury, Leeds and Barnsley could be other towns and cities you visit. Your course will also include a visit to local villages to get country and rural experience in places like Kirkthorpe, Wrenthorpe, Kirkhamgate, Flushdyke, Ossett, Carr Gate, Horbury, Walton, Durkar, Calder Grove, Crigglestone, Chapelthorpe, Newmillerdam, Crofton, Stanley, Altofts and Normanton.
During the latter stages, you will travel around Wakefield practising the routes through a mock test examination. Your driving instructor will prepare you for your driving test by taking you around Wakefield and letting you know of the common areas where learners fail.
All course packages will be tailored around your requirements. The first few hours of any course will be geared towards your driving instructor understanding what level you are at and then plan the rest of the course around the topics you have not covered and not so confident on.
Your driving instructor will make sure you are safe at all times. They’re there to make sure your driving course is helpful as well as ensuring your safety. They will be fully insured and they will have control of the car by dual controls installed in the passenger footwell.
All one-week intensive driving courses in Wakefield will have a test in your course. We will always aim to have a test appointment by the end of your course within 1 week of your last training day. Although external factors like not having a valid theory test may result in taking your practical test at a later date.
You will prepare in the best way possible with your instructor. They will ensure you are competent in all the driving topics like checking your mirrors, car manoeuvres, exiting roundabouts, traffic lights and crossroads.
