How To Get To Kirkham LGV Test Centre
Drivers coming from Preston or Blackpool should join the M55 and leave at Junction 3, picking up the A585 heading south. The A585 becomes Fleetwood Road, which runs through Greenhalgh before signs for Kirkham appear; stay on this road rather than turning off early, since the test centre sits back from the main junction on the Sandbank Estate. Traffic on the A585 can back up around school times, so building in extra minutes on weekday mornings is sensible.
Kirkham and Wesham railway station is the closest stop for anyone travelling by train, with a short taxi or bus ride covering the remaining distance to Progress Way. Local landmarks such as Kirkham Grammar School and Ribby Hall Village both sit near the route in from Fleetwood Road and can help confirm you are close, even without a postcode entered into a satnav. Once on the estate, look for signage directing HGVs and trailers to the test centre rather than the general industrial units, since parking for private cars and lorries is kept separate.
