Because the estate is shared with other business units, following the signed route in from Pennygillam Way to the marked test centre entrance is more reliable than trusting a satnav pin alone, particularly on a first visit. A valid provisional licence and any DVSA-required paperwork should be brought along, with time built in to find the right unit before the appointment. The car used on test day needs L plates displayed front and back, valid insurance for a driving test, and an up-to-date MOT certificate if it is more than three years old.
How To Get To Launceston Test Centre

Launceston’s historic castle sits above the town centre and is a useful landmark once you are close, even though the test centre itself is on the industrial estate rather than in the old town. Public transport options into Launceston are more limited than in larger Cornish towns, so most candidates drive in or are dropped off, and checking parking availability on the estate before the appointment avoids a last-minute scramble for a space.
A practical test from this address typically opens with the standard safety questions before moving into general driving that combines a short run on the A30 with the tighter turns around Launceston’s older streets nearer the castle. Examiners tend to include at least one manoeuvre, commonly a parallel park or bay park, along with an emergency stop in some tests, before finishing with an independent driving section that often loops back towards the industrial estate rather than deep into the town centre. Because the A30 carries a steady flow of through-traffic even on a market town test route, judging safe gaps at speed matters here as much as slow-speed control, which is exactly the kind of mixed practice an intensive course is designed to build in before test day.
Anyone travelling in from Gunnislake and St Anns Chapel should allow for the narrower lanes on that side of the county, which are a good practice ground in their own right before a Launceston test.
