Both car and motorcycle tests are conducted here. Candidates should bring a valid provisional licence and arrive with time to spare, since the eyesight check has to be completed before the practical test can begin. Since 12 May 2026, only the candidate themselves can book, amend or cancel their DVSA appointment, so any last-minute changes need to be made directly rather than through LPOD Academy or another third party. L plates, test-specific insurance and a valid MOT certificate where applicable all need to be in order before the examiner will begin the test.

It is still worth checking the local weather forecast before setting out, since conditions can affect journey times on the more exposed stretches of the A1(M).
