Fareham Theory Test Centre

Fareham Theory Test Centre serves learners across south Hampshire, including candidates who travel over from Southampton rather than using a centre closer to home. The DVSA handles booking and payment on gov.uk, currently £23 per attempt, and doesn’t publish the exact venue address on pages like this one; your confirmation email is where that detail lives. Fareham’s position just off the M27 makes it a reasonably convenient option for learners spread across the wider Solent area.

LPOD Academy’s Bronze 15 course is a popular option for learners in this area who want an intensive run of lessons once their theory pass comes through. From 12 May 2026, only the candidate can book or manage their own DVSA practical test, which is worth bearing in mind if you were planning to have someone else handle it for you. Learners come to this centre from both Fareham and Southampton. Once through the theory, a weekday DVSA practical test costs £62, an additional fee on top of the £23 spent on today’s stage.

Directions To Centre

By car, take the M27 and come off at Junction 11, then follow signs for the town centre, where parking is available nearby. Rail travellers can head for Fareham Railway Station, which leaves a short walk or a quick local bus ride to reach the test centre. If you’re using the bus, look for a service that stops at Fareham Bus Station, within walking distance of the venue.

Junction 11 can back up during rush hour, so if your appointment falls early morning or late afternoon, allow extra time on the M27 itself before you even reach the town centre. You’ll need your provisional licence and booking confirmation to be admitted, and the DVSA will not run a late test or refund the fee if you miss your slot. Revising with the current official question bank rather than an outdated app is the safer approach.

The theory element covers 50 multiple-choice questions, where 43 correct answers gets you through, and 14 hazard perception clips, with a pass mark of 44 out of 75. Photo ID matching your booking is checked at the desk, personal belongings go into a locker, and you sit the test alone at a screen rather than in a group setting. If you don’t pass first time, the DVSA requires a wait of at least three working days before you can book another attempt, so factor that into your revision schedule. Your result is given straight away, before you even leave the room.

Why Book With LPOD Academy?

Do I need to pass my theory test before booking an LPOD course?
No, you do not need a theory pass to book a course with us. Many learners sit their theory test early in an intensive week, so it is still fresh once the practical lessons begin.

Can LPOD book my theory test for me?
Yes. We can book your theory test for you as an optional add-on, £60 all in, which includes the £23 DVSA fee.

What does the LPOD theory course cover?
Our in-house online theory course covers all 14 topics, hazard perception and case studies, so you arrive at this centre fully prepared.
