Redditch Theory Test Centre

Redditch Theory Test Centre sits in the town centre and serves learners from across north Worcestershire and south Warwickshire who need to sit the DVSA multiple-choice and hazard perception test. It’s a regular stop for candidates travelling from Bromsgrove, Stratford-upon-Avon, Studley and Worcester. The test fee is £23, paid when you book on GOV.UK, and you must bring your provisional driving licence to be let in; a car isn’t needed, as the entire test happens on a computer.

Directions To Centre

If you’re driving, come off the M42 at Junction 2 and follow the signs for Redditch town centre, where parking is available close to the test venue. Coming by train, Redditch Station is well connected and leaves you only a short walk from the door. Bus travellers have several local routes serving Redditch bus station, from which the centre is an easy walk.

Redditch’s road network, including the roundabout-heavy layout around the town centre, is a fair preview of what practical test routes in the area involve, and it’s the kind of junction work that LPOD Academy’s intensive courses spend real time on. Whether you take Bronze 15 or a larger block such as Platinum 50, lessons are timed so your theory pass leads straight into practical test preparation instead of losing momentum.

The theory test itself has two parts sat back to back: a multiple-choice section covering road procedure and the Highway Code, and a hazard perception section built from video clips, both of which have to be passed together. Miss the mark on either part and DVSA won’t let you rebook for at least three working days. Keep in mind that from 12 May 2026 the candidate must book and manage their own DVSA practical test, a change from the old system where instructors could do it on a learner’s behalf. Get to the centre with time in hand, since DVSA won’t admit candidates who arrive after their slot starts.

Give yourself a proper run-up rather than cramming the night before: work through official DVSA practice questions and hazard perception clips over several shorter sessions, and time yourself so the pace of the real test doesn’t come as a surprise. Booking early helps too, since convenient slots around Redditch and the wider Worcestershire area can get snapped up once schools break up for holidays, so lock in a date as soon as your intensive course is confirmed. Check our guide to theory test costs and payment if you want the full breakdown before you book, and it is worth checking your provisional licence details match your application exactly before you book, since mismatched names or addresses can delay the process and push your test date back further than you would like.
