By road, simply follow the signs into Salisbury city centre and use one of the local parking facilities nearby; there’s no single motorway route in, so allow a little extra time to navigate the one-way system around the centre. Rail passengers can get off at Salisbury station, from which it’s roughly a fifteen-minute walk or a brief taxi ride. Bus travellers have several routes stopping near the city centre, and from the main bus station the venue itself is only a short walk.

A course such as Platinum 50 compresses weeks of tuition into a short block so the theory pass and the practical test booking happen close together rather than drifting apart.

Expect the theory test to run as a Highway Code multiple-choice section immediately followed by a hazard perception section using video clips, both assessed in the same sitting; falling short on either half means DVSA sets a minimum three working day wait before a resit can be booked. Since 12 May 2026, DVSA also requires candidates to book and manage their own practical test rather than going through an instructor, so keep your certificate number safe once you’ve passed theory.

If you haven’t applied for your provisional licence yet, build in a few weeks for DVLA to process it before you can book theory at all, and once your test date is booked, spread your revision across several short sessions rather than one long push the week before. Bring nothing but your licence into the test room, since phones and other devices are kept in a locker while the multiple-choice and hazard perception sections run, and staff will talk you through the on-screen controls first.
