When booking a driving course, it’s very important to make sure you know what course suits your driving skill. We believe all learners are at different stages in their driving progress. That’s why LPOD Academy will be here to guide choosing the right course for you. Beginner – If you are just about to start with your driving journey, you may look at our Gold / Platinum courses. These courses ranging from 35 – 50 hours are curated especially for learners who have very little driving practice, or even those who have never driven before. We advise you to book in advance to secure more preferable test dates. 

Intermediate – If you stopped your driving practice before for some reason, and want to continue your driving journey, you may want to book our Silver Courses. These courses will help you discover all the driving techniques and go over that all-important driving test sheet!

Experienced – Have you recently failed your test and looking for a course to assess your current driving ability? Then our Bronze courses will suit you best. These courses will help you keep the momentum going especially if you have failed a test. Your driving instructor will help you become the best version of yourself for your test.

Thurso is based on the KW14 postcode and all of the other surrounding villages. Around Thurso are other places/settlements such as Castletown, Halkirk, Wick, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Belfast, Bergen, Bradford, Leeds & Manchester. Thurso is a town on the north coast of the Highland council area. It lies west of John o’ Groats and northwest of Wick and has a population of 7,610 residents in the town. Thurso has a test centre itself. It will be more convenient if you live here that you will not need to travel to other towns. You are still welcome to travel to other test centres when taking your test. The nearby test centres would be situated in Lairg and Elgin. Although they are far from Thurso, your instructor will take you to these places when it comes to your test.

Thurso does not have its own theory test centre, this will require you to travel to the nearest test centre that would be situated in Elgin.

Booking a practical is impossible without your theory test, that’s why taking the theory test is very important.

With all our intensive driving courses in Thurso, we don’t mind if you have not passed your theory yet. We like to take on learners who have not got their theory as we believe it’s just as important as the practical test
