Since 12 May 2026, the candidate must book and manage their own DVSA practical test directly; this can’t be delegated to an instructor. A theory test pass, at £23, comes first, and the practical test costs £62 on a weekday. Once you’re in Penzance, the town itself is compact enough to explore on foot, and the seafront is a useful orientation point if you’re getting your bearings before a lesson.
