The M9 is the main route in by car: come off at the Stirling exit and follow the signs for the city centre, where parking is available close by. Rail passengers should head for Stirling Railway Station, close enough to the centre for a short walk, though a taxi covers it too if you’d rather not carry bags. Buses into Stirling terminate at the bus station, and from there a short walk or a hop on local transport reaches the venue. Arrive with your provisional licence photocard rather than just the number, and build in time for security checks before your slot starts. Booking happens through your own GOV.UK account rather than a phone line, and it’s worth setting that account up before the week you actually want to test, since good slots at busy centres disappear fast. If you’re also thinking ahead to the practical test, note that from 12 May 2026 only you, the candidate, will be able to book or amend that DVSA appointment, so it’s worth having your licence details ready before that stage arrives. Further down the line, the practical test carries its own fee, £62 on a weekday, separate from the £23 you pay for theory, so plan for both costs rather than just the one.
