Prestwich is a moderate sized town that resides east of the River Irwell and it is surrounded by many parks such as the Drinkwater Park, Phillips Park, Prestwich & Heaton Park to the east of the town. The town is mostly made up of residential areas with winding roads that make it generally easier to naviagte. The New Bury Road is the main road that connects Prestwich to the M60 motorway to the north, Whitefield town and Manchester city centre to the south. There are plenty of roads to practice all of the driving syllabus topics and you have the motorway to practice on high speed roads and merging in lane topics when doing your crash driving course in Prestwich.
Prestwich is also situated north of Manchester which helps the local residents access the services in Manchester city centre and work places. You also have M60 which helps you go to other areas around the area. With Troon, Ayr & Kilmarnock which gives you even more roads to practice on and develop your skills on.
As you will more than likely take your driving test in either Cheetham Hill or Bury. You may not have many opportunities to practice in rural settings due to the area being mostly built up. There is a local village near Prestwich which is situated by the M60 & The M62 interchange call Simister where you can practice in a village setting.
When you come to prepare for your driving test in the Prestwich area, there are 2 choices of test centres for you. You can either take a test in Cheetham Hill or Bury driving test centre. These will both require different practice as they are in 2 different environments. As Cheetham Hill is nearer Manchester city centre, there will be lots of traffic compared to the likes of Bury.
